Seahurst Beach

Seahurst Park was a King County Park until 1996 when it was given to the new city of Burien. The beach itself is about 2,000 feet long and is comprised mainly of finer material than most of the beaches...more
In the 1960s, the vision of developing Seahurst Park began with former King County Commissioner Ed Munro. King County purchased the beach in the late 60s from Howard Quinn with money that was gained from the sale of another piece of land in Burien. The park opened April 12, 1975 and was eventually formally named by King County as "Ed Munro Seahurst Park". The property was originally owned by Robert S. Fox who also owned the Seattle Lumber Company. The deed to the park was transferred from King County to the City of Burien in 1994.

This is Deogie's first time to an ocean beach. He looks on with alert caution at the waves roar onto the beach.

So he decided to chase the cresting waves up and down the beach, barking at them and biting into the salty water.

After playing with the waves it was time to go exploring. Seahurst Beach has a great trail system with delightful sites.

This guy sure does like a good cold drink of fresh water. Look at the waterline up his legs, that's almost 12 inches, well, that's what I always tell her....

It's always worth the time to go exploring Seahurst Beach and don't forget to save a moment and smell the flowers, if you can.

I know Deogie looks forward to coming back here as often as he can.
